About Our Financials and Fiscal Sponsorship History
Texas Pride Impact Fund’s 501(c)(3) status and EIN 81-4143670 were granted on June 5, 2018. From 2016 through December 31, 2022, we operated as a component fund of The Dallas Foundation (TDF), a 501(c)(3) publicly supported charity (Federal Tax ID 75-2890371). During this time, all financial activities were under the control and oversight of TDF.
As our fiscal sponsor, TDF provided:
- Fiscal oversight and investment management for our general fund and Donor Advised Funds (DAFs), and
- Grant servicing for our outgoing grants, allowing us to focus on grantee selection, donor engagement, and statewide LGBTQ+ community building.
While TDF’s financial statements were audited annually, Texas Pride Impact Fund’s specific fund activity was not audited as a standalone entity. The financial summaries we present for 2016–2022 are extracted from TDF’s audited financials and should be considered unaudited in the context of our independent nonprofit status. For full transparency, we provide combined (unedited) reports from the Texas Pride Impact Fund (TPIF) and TDF under the Reports & Documents section.
Beginning January 1, 2022, TPIF began managing select revenue and expense activities under its own EIN. Our 2022 IRS Form 990 only reflects these independent activities. Outgoing grants and DAFs for that year remained reported under TDF’s Form 990.
In December 2024, we fully transitioned our grantmaking and financial activities from under The Dallas Foundation. With that milestone, we changed our name from Texas Pride Impact Fund to Texas Pride Community Foundation to reflect our expanded role and independence as a statewide LGBTQ+ community foundation.
As of January 2025, we operate independently, with our financial systems, oversight, and future audited financials.
