2016 saw three major funding accomplishments for Texas Pride Community Foundation.
OCTOBER – The first TPCF Donor Advised Fund (DAF) was established for a Dallas couple known for their generous philanthropy. The creation of this Donor Advised Fund also proved the integration of processes between Texas Pride Community Foundation and our Fiscal Sponsor, The Dallas Foundation.
AUGUST – TPCF was awarded a $50,000 Planning Grant from Funders for LGBTQ Issues’ Out in the South Fund. The grant provided funds specifically for TPCF’s IMPACT Texas Needs Assessment. The Out in the South Fund is a pooled fund that “aims to strengthen local LGBTQ funds and Southern funding collaboratives as sustainable sources of locally rooted LGBTQ funding. These local LGBTQ funds in turn work to increase the capacity of local community organizations making a positive impact on the lives of LGBTQ Southerners.” The Out in the South Fund is made possible by generous grant-makers including: The Arcus Foundation, The Chartrand Family Foundation, The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, The Freeman Foundation, Laughing Gull Foundation, The Amy Mandel and Katina Rodis Fund, The Palette Fund, and an anonymous donor.
MAY – TPCF received our first major donation, an extremely generous $100,000 anonymous, unrestricted gift. The gift established sufficient funds in order for TPCF to release an RFP to qualified researches for TPCF’s IMPACT Texas Needs Assessment, putting in motion our first project to identify funding priorities for grant initiatives scheduled for 2018.
